For the past eleven years, I have worked for various organizations throughout the east as a trail builder and crew leader. Some of these organizations include Appalachian Landscape Management, Cumberland Trail Conference, Florida Trail Association, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, and the USFS (Mt. Rogers NRA). As a result, I have gained valuable experience not only in construction techniques but in layout and design as well. I have worked with groups both large and smalland have also gained skills in food preparation and planning, conflict resolution and helping people through difficult circumstances. |
I have spent a great deal of time backpacking throughout the southeast. Being a Tennessee native, I feel at home in the mountains, especially the southern Appalachians, although I am willing to travel anywhere. I have been out of trail work for about two years. During that time I have worked for a vacation rental property adjacent to the Gauley River in WV. This has given me the opportunity to hone my skills as well as develop new ones such as working with heavy equipment. I believe that mey skills and experience would make me a valuable member on any trail project. |

I am a highly-skilled off-road motorcyclist seeking employment doing trail design, construction, and/or trail-mapping. I am a life-time member of the American Motorcyclist Association and have over 35 years of single-track experience. I've helped design, construct, mark and maintain single-track trails with non-profit organizations, local clubs, AMA promotors, and International event organizers (FIM and World Police & Fire Games). I have designed, constructed and maintain a 10-mile single-track loop for hikers, motorcyclists and mountain bikers on my personal property. I LOVE doing trail work! I have experience in working with government entities (IDNR, US Army, US Air Force). I also possess a Class A Commercial Drivers License and have a squeaky-clean driving record. I'm in good physical condition and I enjoy getting my hands dirty. This summer I was allowed to accompany Dept. of Interior - BLM employees on a trail-mapping mission near Grand Junction, Colorado. That inspired me to look for an employment opportunity in this area. |
I am particularly interested in helping to inventory and evaluate existing trails, although I enjoy participating in all phases of trail projects. I use a GPS on a regular basis while riding recreationally. I thoroughly enjoy exploring new places. I ride year-round, regardless of weather. I've ridden on public and privately-owned off-road trails in CO, IN, IL, MI, MS, OH, OK, NY, TN, UT, and Mexico. I am willing to travel. I have multiple late-model off-road motorcycles that I personally maintain. I work well with little or no supervision...give me a task and I'll get'r done! |

Although I have no trail building experience , I have a deep passion for nature and love hiking.I am always waiting for the next adventure and enjoy the challenge of conquering the mountain.Nothing would be more satisfying to me than to get paid to blaze trails and enjoy nature.

Interests: Catskills or Adirondacks would be just fine for me.Right now I live about 45 minutes away from either.I am in good shape, can labor all day and am a cook too if that is relevant at all. Comments: I can't explain the feeling when I'm out there Hiking, all I know is I'm going to be out there as much as I can until I'm too old to do it.Becoming a trail builder would be a perfect match between nature and my personality.I am a passionate hard working and loyal person. |

For me 2007 was spent landscaping throughout Wisconsin. Though new to the trade I was excited about the hard work and the variable weather conditions actually made it very fun at times. I quickly learned the necessary skills and put in all the hours I could. Eager to learn more throughout the summer of 08 I worked with for the CCC backcountry trails program in Yosemite National Park. Time spent here was not only rewarding but very beneficial. I now have the "bug" and await for more. I've worked construction at other times throughout my life making me comfortable working with various tools and heavy lifting. |
Though I have a college degree in biology with future plans at the momment I very much enjoy what I do. Therefore I'm looking for full time trail work whether temporary or permanent. Currently located in Wisconsin I am very open to travel and can start immediately. Though I'm sure I have more to learn about trail construction I am eager to learn and would love to share what I do know with those with no prior experience. Anyone considering me for employment I feel would get a better idea of the person I am through conversation. I hope for and look forward to talking to anyone out there in need for good, hardworking, honest laborers. |

Objective I have trail references. Ask and ye shall receive. |
Well Its been about 7 years since I have done trails and I realized that that was the only time that I was truly happy. I belong running around in the mountains building trails to the heavens not in the city building Posh homes for the masses. Plus with seasonal work I can adventure. I am a martial artist and would like to take some trips to Asia. I could do this in the off season then come back and get back to work. |

I have worked on trail projects for 6 years in all kinds of conditions - with both non-profit (SCA) and in the private sector. I am a hard worker who enjoys working outdoors and am not afraid of hard work. I'm chain saw certified and good with most hand tools. Some light experience with other equipment. |
I am seeking employment in the trail construction and/or maintenance arena - hard work does not scare me nor do extreme working or weather conditions in back country situations. |
